Crypto CGT Calculator(“we”, “us”) operates this website. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

The short version

Your tax calculations never leave your browser. Transactions you enter into the calculator are processed entirely on your device. We do not receive, store or see them.
We only collect personal data you actively submit: your email address (and optionally your name and message) through our forms.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use advertising cookies.

What we collect and why

Email capture (“email me this calculation”): your email address, plus non-identifying context about your calculation (tax years involved, an estimated tax total, and a complexity category — never your transactions). Used to send you the summary you requested. Lawful basis: consent.
Specialist request form: your name, email and any message you include, used to arrange an introduction to a UK crypto tax specialist as you requested. Lawful basis: consent / steps taken at your request.
Hosting logs: our hosting provider (Vercel Inc.) processes standard technical request data such as IP address and user agent to serve and secure the site. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (operating and protecting the service).

Cookies and analytics

The site does not currently set advertising or third-party analytics cookies. If we introduce analytics in future, this policy and the site will be updated first, with consent requested where required.

Who we share data with

Service providers who process data on our behalf (hosting; and an email delivery provider for sending summaries you request).
If you ask to be introduced to a tax specialist, the details you submit for that purpose will be shared with the relevant partner firm so they can contact you.
Affiliate links on this site take you to third-party websites (e.g. crypto tax software providers). Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies; we do not send them your personal data.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are kept for as long as needed to fulfil your request and for up to 24 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Hosting logs are retained per our provider’s standard short-term schedule.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop processing your personal data, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@cryptocgtcalculator.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

International transfers

Our hosting and email providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK Addendum to Standard Contractual Clauses.

We’ll post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date above.
